Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery

  • Duration of the course: Three years
  • Seat capacity: 40
  • Entry requirement: Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC examination

  • Diploma Nursing Science & Midwifery course is conducted by Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (BNMC)

Requirement

> The applicants must pass both SSC & HSC Examinations from any discipline and any educational Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Bangladesh. Students will be selected on a merit basis. Merit score will be determined by cumulative GPA of SSC, HSC & admission test and will be decided by the admission committee

> Marks conversion from General Certificate of Education (GCE) – ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level will be decided by the central admission committee

> The candidates must apply within 3 years, after passing HSC examination

> Medical (physical & mental) fitness will be essential for admission

> Applicant must be single

> For foreign candidates: According to admission policy

> Admission test will be conducted as per Act. of BNMC-2016 according to the admission policy

BSc in Nursing

  • Duration of the course: Four years
  • Seat capacity: 50
  • Medium of instruction: English & supplemental Bangla language as necessary
  • The BSc in Nursing course is affiliated with the University of Dhaka
  • The University of Dhaka conducts examinations and after successful completion of four years of BSc in Nursing, students have to take a nurse internship for a period of six months, then they become eligible to sit for the BNC comprehensive exam for licensing as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • The certificate is issued by the University of Dhaka & registration is accorded by Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (BNMC)

Requirement

> Must be registered by Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council

> The applicants must have passed either Diploma in nursing or a Diploma in Midwifery/Orthopedic Nursing/Psychiatric nursing or a Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery

> The applicants must have a minimum of two years of working experience as a Registered nurse/Registered nurse midwife in a public hospital

> Nursing registration of the applicant must be updated by Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council

> Successful candidates must have medical fitness check-ups before admission
